Vishnu Therapy - Solar Plexus and abdomen self-massage - Women

Location: TBA

Women ages 18+, not breastfeeding, pregnant, or on moontime (please see "Health Concerns" below)

Mustard oil and manual will be provided. Enjoy tea and prasad after.

Learn Vishnu Therapy massage as taught by my teacher, Sunyata Saraswati. This is a self-massage.

The center of our inner energy lies in the solar plexus (Navel Chakra). This chakra maintains our physical and psychic energy. Ancient yogis and masters believed that control of the solar plexus can bring immortality, and the Tibetans use the navel chakra in the Six Yogas of Naropa system.

This energy point may move out of its alignment under heavy emotional shock or physical overburden. One cannot realize the benefits of meditation and yoga if the solar plexus is out of alignment. Deep muscle manipulation in and around pressure points throughout the body, as well as stretching and yogic exercises (asanas) will release tension and begin to restore vitality.

We need this energy point, the Navel Chakra or solar plexus, to be strong. The solar plexus is connected to 72,000 psychic nerves in the astral body, which influence the activities of the entire nervous system. By the correct massage, blood circulation, and posture are improved, body functions are allowed to flow correctly, and inner harmony can be restored. This therapeutic massage, on a regular basis, can help to revive your vital energies and start you on the path to far greater well-being.

Primary Purpose*:

  • Align and strengthen the Nabhi Chakra (behind navel) to maintain physical and psychic energy
  • Open and balance the meridians
  • Purify the Nadis

Other Possible Benefits*:

  • Allowing bodily functions to flow correctly
  • Circulation of blood
  • Immortality by maintaining the auric and magnetic fields
  • Posture improvement
  • Realizing benefits of meditation and yoga
  • Restoring inner harmony

*Benefits accumulate more effectively with consistent practice

Please bring old towels, blanket, mat, and/or pillow. We will be laying on the tile floor, so bring plenty of padding, and arrive a little early to set up your nest :-). You may expose or cover your belly when self-massaging. Massage can also be done over clothing.

Please eat lightly 1-2 hours before class.
